INCIDENTAL MUSIC for Double Bass and Piano is a collection of works written during the years 1984-88.  The separate pieces were all written under different circumstances with different results in mind, but none of those projects was ever carried through to completion.  Each piece was approached in a different way, which make them a good contrasting assortment.  It was not until later, however, that I realized that they share quite a bit of common material.  This led me to include them in a single collection.

Like most other works I have written for the double bass, this work was intended for my own use and enjoyment.  The collection can be performed as a single work or can be excerpted as individual pieces or a suite.
