The MOVEMENT for violin, viola, and double bass was written in 1988, but I don't remember much else about it.  I had written a trio with this instrumentation in 1985, and I remember thinking that I would make another stab at it with a completely different approach.  The work, however, never progressed beyond this movement.  I had some misgivings about what I was doing compositionally during this period, and made several attempts a trying other things.  Some of these other "experiments" are collected in the Incidental Music (1988) for double bass and piano.
